Fatal accident on AA Highway
Friday, January 12, 2007: A Lewis County woman died as a result of a two-vehicle accident shortly after
2 p.m. Friday afternoon on the AA Highway near Willim Branch.
According to the Morehead Post of the Kentucky State Police, Daniel Stiltner Jr., 31, of Lucasville, Ohio,
was driving a 2002 Ford F150 southbound on the AA Highway and crossed the center line, striking a
1991 Toyota Corolla, operated by Jo Ann Hartley, 35, of Manley Hollow, Vanceburg, head on in the
northbound lane.
Hartley was pronounced dead at the scene by Lewis County Coroner Tony Gaydos.
Stiltner was treated and released at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.
The Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by the Lewis County Sheriff's Department,
Vanceburg Fire Department and Portsmouth Ambulance Service.
