Lewis County Beacon! Thoughts and more generated from Lewis County, Kentucky.
Entry for February 19, 2007

Even though ice and snow linger, frigid winter weather just might be moving out of the area...it's 40 degrees in Lewis County today...woohoo!

Despite the weather wrecking our planned schedules the past few weeks, we've been trying very hard to add Lewis County news and information that are of interest to our visitors.

Feel free to click on the "Contact Us" tab with suggestions for news and information content. We are also open to reciprocal links for our "Links" page.

The most common question we've gotten is "when do you publish The Beacon?" Obituaries, calendar items and links are posted as we receive them. News items are generally posted the same evening we cover an event, but sometimes that may be as late as 11 pm or midnight. School closings are posted within 15-20 minutes of us getting the phone call (sometimes as early as 5:30 am or the night before, but almost never any later than 5:45 am the day of the closing or delay).

Our newest pages are "Military", where we have news of our local military personnel, and "Creativity", a forum for poets and writers with Lewis County connections.

As stories (other than emergency weather notices) drop off the the main Beacon page, they are moved to other pages, including "Archives", so stories are always available on the site. Use our "search box" on the main Beacon page to find older items.

Stayed tuned! There's much MUCH more to come!
